BRINGING POSITIVE CHANGE

TO OUR COMMUNITY

SUZIE'S
VISION &
PRIORITIES

My vision for Tauranga is centered on fostering a strong community, protecting our environment, and ensuring transparent governance. I aim to support local businesses and create job opportunities, promote green energy and sustainable practices to preserve our natural beauty, and invest in public services and infrastructure for a healthier, safer community.

Transparency is key to my approach; I will maintain open communication, involve residents in decision-making processes, and provide regular updates on progress to build trust and accountability.

Together, we can create a thriving, inclusive, and environmentally responsible Tauranga.

MEET SUZIE

Since 2018, I have been working on investigations over Councils performance, in particular
with the Bella Vista scandal- exposing the truth not the Council spin. In recent months I, with
the Matua, Otumoetai, Bellevue and Brookfield community have been running
Project STOP - Save The Otūmoetai Pool

My commitment to working for the Community is a matter of record dating back to the mid
1980s. I expect that my commitment will continue to be to the people making our
community's voice heard and actioned. My talents are fact finding and investigation, along

With putting Community first. I ran a nationwide voluntary organisation for the $7b financial
company collapse, including Blue Chip, Hanover, Canterbury Financial Service, Lombard
finance and Bridgecorp – to name but a few. I was employed to set up Age Concern in the
late 1980s in Tauranga and assisted establishing others Age Concern community centres
throughout NZ.

In Tauranga I championed the pay out to 100 Victims of white collar crime, by an American
Company H & R Block. My experience has been the greatest gift in being able to stand up
and seek accountability. I'm positive and proactive by nature and offer our community a
resounding commitment to make things happen and get a win win for all. I am committed to
help progress the city, without allowing the community to be run roughshod over.

Press Releases

Transparencyand Trustfor Tauranga

While I recognise and agree that Tauranga must grow to be a thriving and vibrant
city, that makes people who live here want to stay and be proud of what we have and
also attract people to move here, it must be done in a sustainable manner. A clear
growth strategy together with new community facilities and the maintenance and
renewal of existing infrastructure needs to articulated along with a robust financial
analysis of its affordability. In the medium to long term we cannot keep having double
digit rate increases which ultimately, will make Tauranga unaffordable to many. The
flow on effect will be people moving on and business relocating to more sustainable
environs for doing business and their people to live.

There is no easy answers and some hard decisions will need be made. I will work
actively with the council team to address these issues while also consulting with the
community to give them a voice. I can’t promise anything as, if elected, we really
don’t know the full picture of the financial situations. If elected I will only be 1 of 10
however I will do my utmost for the good of the city. We must stop wasteful spending
and be diligent with spending public money.
